Eastern & Oriental Express - Day 2
At the mainland station, disembark for the crossing to Penang. Enjoy a guided tour of colonial Georgetown, with its pre-World War II mosques, temples, churches, bazaars and shophouses. Board the coach for your crossing back and lunch on board. As the train crosses into Thailand, spend the afternoon watching the changing scenery from the open deck of the Observation Car or relax in the Bar Car. Dinner is served on board.
Eastern & Oriental Express - Day 3
After breakfast, the train arrives at the River Kwai Bridge Station. Alight here for a cruise along the picturesque Kwai Yai River, while a local historian provides a brief history of the Thailand-Burma railway and the bridge. Take a motor coach to the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre, with time to visit the Don Rak War Cemetery. Rejoin the coach back to Kanchanaburi Railway Station, where your journey continues with lunch on board. Arrive into Bangkok late afternoon.
